WIST,June 28--TheExcellent Students’ Overseas Exchange Program for the 2023 spring semester, which lasted for more than three months and had a total of 14 sessions, was successfully concluded. The participating students delivered impressive presentations on site.
In this final session, students demonstrated their skills in groups, focusing on three topics: “describing a famous person,” “describing a city,” and “describing a sport.” Some students showcased characteristic cities of China, such as Wuhan, Changsha, Hangzhou, Xi’an, Beijing, Shanghai, and Yichang, inviting foreign teachers to visit. Using captivating body language, other students introduced Chinese martial arts like Shaolin Kungfu, Taijiquan, and Drunken Boxing, surprising both students and teachers in attendance. Additionally, students shared their personal hobbies, such as table tennis, basketball, and running, discussing the allure of sports and the influence of idols. Each group presented the history and culture of China with unique formats and rich content to the foreign teachers, displaying the spirited and enterprising mindset of vocational college students in China.


After the presentation, Yin Rujiao, a student from the School of Architecture Design, shared her thoughts on learning. She said that she not only broadened her horizons but also gained self-confidence and friendship. Chen Jiayi, a student from the School of Commerce and Trade, mentioned that the exchange activities this semester not only enhanced his vocabulary and grammar, but also allowed him to understand the culture behind the language and fostered the spirit of teamwork among students.


Finally, Anu, a teacher from the Loyalist College of Applied Arts and Technology in Canada, highly praised the efforts and dedication of the students during the defense session. She encouraged them to continue trying and practicing as always, and thanked the faculty of WIST for their hard work and cooperation. She looks forward to witnessing greater progress from the students in the future and further collaboration between the two colleges.
